Welcome to our launch of the club website!
We have existed for over 10 years as the Marine Modellers of Niagara on the Lake, where the club originated. On December 3rd the name was changed to Model Shipwrights of Niagara.

Meeting hosted by Lee Valley Tools, Niagara Falls, Ontario. The theme of the meeting was "Understanding Ship Line Drawings" A handout was given to each attendee explaining line drawings for their reference. Three full size line drawings of HMS Elephant (1786-1830) were spread out on the table and a copy of the original build contract was also brought in. Members brought in their models displaying various stages of builds.

Meeting hosted David A. of NOTL The theme of the meeting was "Sharpening Chisels (and other tools)". A demonstration was given using water stones and slurry on glass. Plans of the (Sailing Training Vessel) STV Pathfinder, a Brig located in Toronto, Ontario were on display. One member explained his method of ageing the look of his model ropes. 13 September 2017
Meeting hosted Alan O. of Welland The theme of the meeting was "The Battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1812". One member had spent an afternoon sailing aboard the US Brig Niagara out of Erie, Pennsylvania. A presentation was given on the events leading up to and including the Battle. Various models were brought in by members. |
